About the 9th Annual Burger Wars
The 9th Annual Burger Wars are back and better than ever on June 3rd, 2023, starting at 11 a.m. and going until 2 p.m. Burger Wars is one of the most beloved fundraisers and food competitions in our area, sponsored by the Opelika Rotary Foundation.
So, fire up those grills! Whether you’re a professional or just an at-home grill master, all are invited to sign up to participate in this event. Don’t forget to pay your registration fee to the Opelika Rotary Club after you sign up.
All funds raised at the 9th Annual Burger Wars support the Opelika Rotary Foundation, with the primary beneficiary being the Food Bank of East Alabama Backpack Program.
More about the 9th Annual Burger Wars
If you are more into eating burgers than grilling them up, you can buy tasting tickets on the day of the event. These tickets are $2 each and can be exchanged to sample a fourth of a burger at any of the 30 grilling stations.
After tasting all the burgers you can, you can cast your vote for the “crowd favorite,” who will go home with a trophy.
There will also be judges there who will rate the burgers and determine winners in three categories. Categories include pro, corporate and tailgater, who will each receive a trophy. Winners will be announced at the end of the event at 2 p.m.
